The historic Rust Manor in Leesburg, VA lent its perfect structure and luscious green landscape for an African traditional wedding with a modern twist. When this incredible passionate love story was conceived, we had in mind the challenges some of our clients face in blending the traditional taste of culture with their own modern style. Inspired by the bold and colorful fabric texture, the rich culture of the South-Eastern Igbos of Nigeria, West Africa infused with delicate flair for modern style, while the historic Rust Manor structure, which mirrors historic royal mansions in Nigeria, yielded a setting that blurs the lines of tradition and fine style.
The sweetheart table set the tone for this fusion of cultures with purple, lavender and plum florals popping against the luxurious antique Gold couture linen. The florals, intertwined with lush cascading greenery meshed perfectly with the soft gold metallic candelabra while the gold wine kegs offered an understated elegance to remind guests that traditional ‘Palm wine” was in order at the bar.
Our bride donned a two-step wrapper revealing exquisite hand-sewn floral pattern paired with coral layered beads. Every line speaking of layers and depths of affection she has found in her groom.
The trendy groom wore a black shirt and bow tie with a historic orange wrapper depicting the fiery heart of passion for his bride.
A custom menu inspired by the antique gold was designed to be formal, lavish but not excessive.
The day came to an end with a beautiful display of gold, ornately designed cupcakes for guests to devour as they danced into the evening.
