How to Plan a Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony is the most significant part of your wedding as it seals your love and commitment for each other.  It precludes the pre-nuptial events and consequently the reception. But a perfect wedding doesn’t happen overnight. It needs careful and smart planning.  It is daunting but it has its rewards. Seeking advice from professionals is a must for a dream wedding to happen.

1. Have an operational wedding outline

The wedding outline serves as a guide or procedure to ensure the smooth flow of the event. It covers the following: choice of an officiant, the processional, ceremony readings, vows, kissing, pronouncement, recessional, and even up to the reception. However, a personal touch or tweak allows you to include the do’s and eliminate the don’t ‘s in your event.  The result will be a very memorable and unique experience not only for both of you but for your guests as it shows your personality as a couple, too.

2. Prepare a wedding ceremony script

In a traditional wedding ceremony, there is always a ready template for the wedding script. However, coming up with your own scripts, especially the wedding vows will make the wedding more intimate. Each uttered word coming from your heart becomes more meaningful than just reading from a prepared script.

3. Find an officiant

The officiant has a very important role in the wedding ceremony. It is ideal to find one who knows you personally as a couple or has seen your journey prior to your wedding.  However, if a pastor or priest is not available, you may consider a close and respected friend or family member to become one. Your choice is not limited to the title or position of a person.

4. Make a playlist for your wedding

Think about a music genre, be it romantic, nostalgic, spiritual, or alternative that you want to fit for the ceremony, and select the wedding songs or instrumental versions that reflect your choice of genre.  Play the music throughout the ceremony to accompany some segments.
